Rosacea
What is Rosacea
Rosacea is a chronic skin condition that primarily affects the face, causing redness, flushing, visible blood vessels, and sometimes bumps and pimples. It typically occurs in adults aged 30 to 50 and is more common in fair-skinned individuals. The exact cause of rosacea is unknown, but factors such as genetics, environmental triggers, and abnormalities in the immune system may play a role.
Rosacea can be triggered or exacerbated by various factors, including sun exposure, hot or spicy foods, alcohol, stress, and certain skincare products. It is essential for individuals with rosacea to work with a skin specialist to develop a personalised treatment plan tailored to their specific needs and subtype of rosacea.
